This Wednesday March 30, 2022, Cinnamon Girl returns from winter hiatus to raise $1-A-Bun for The Friends of Casco Bay (FOCB). The Team at FOCB work tirelessly to our local waters blue! It’s mission is to improve and protect the environmental health of Casco Bay.
Science
The Team at Friends of Casco Bay “listen” to Casco Bay by collecting water quality data, enabling the ability to identify threats to the health of the Bay. FOCB tracks water quality year-round from three Continuous Monitoring Stations, and collect seasonal water samples from 24 locations around the Bay.
Baykeeping
Advocating for clean marine water is at the core of FOCB work. Led by a chief advocate, the Casco Baykeeper, the staff and community lend the Bay our voices. FOCB advocates for the health of our coastal waters in town halls and the state legislature, and work with businesses and environmental agencies to promote clean water policies and practices
Community Engagement
The name Friends of Casco Bay was chosen with purposeful intent. It takes a community to care for the Bay. FOCB hosts events to educate the public on issues affecting the Bay and coordinate volunteer efforts to improve its health. FOCB is proud to say that our volunteers and supporters are among the Bay’s most dedicated ambassadors.
